How does GENEU analyse DNA variables?
The GENEU DNA test will identify the small DNA variations in your genes responsible for skin ageing (collagen breakdown and antioxidant protection). GENEU uses its own laboratory in London, and this normally lengthy process is reduced to just 48 hours.
Will the GENEU DNA test be testing genes other than those related to collagen breakdown and antioxidant protection?
The GENEU DNA test only looks at genes that have been shown to be responsible for skin ageing with robust scientific backing, based on research published in credible peer-reviewed academic papers. No other genes are analysed during this test.
What should I expect during my GENEU DNA test?
To analyse how your genes are effecting your skin ageing we will take a simple cheek saliva swab sample containing minute quantities of your DNA to perform our simple genetic test and then factor in your lifestyle characteristics to create your U+ profile. We use this information to maximise the efficacy of your DNA personalised anti-ageing products by selecting the active ingredients most compatible with your U+ profile. Once your results have been analysed at our London laboratory, which takes 48 hours, you will have the opportunity to sit down with one of our highly qualified scientific advisors who will explain what your results mean and how your unique GENEU serums will improve your skin.
What does U+ mean?
U+ summarises all of the elements from GENEU skincare. It represents the analysis of both your DNA variations and lifestyle factors that will affect your skin ageing, as well as your personalised solution to optimise the appearance and health of your skin.
Is the GENEU DNA personalised skincare range suitable for both men and women?
The process of skin ageing occurs in each and every one of us, irrespective of gender. This process is completely dependent on your own genetic results and your own epigenetic (lifestyle) factors. The DNA personalised products from GENEU are unisex and tailored exclusively to your individual needs.
Do I need to be in a particular age group in order to use GENEU products?
The skin-ageing process is different for each and every one of us. If you are in your 20s, you can prevent premature skin ageing by using our anti-ageing skincare regime. If you are aged 35 or over, then your DNA personalised anti-ageing products will provide you with the best ingredients to facilitate younger-looking skin, and target fine lines, wrinkles and the loss of elasticity.

Why does GENEU recommend two different serums?
Since we test for two aspects related to skin ageing, collagen breakdown and antioxidant protection, providing two separate serums per customer provides a greater level of personalisation and enables a higher concentration of personally-prescribed active ingredients to be included in each serum. GENEU’s Genotype AOX and COL serums are formulated to work in combination with each other to provide you with the best possible results to optimise the appearance and health of your skin.
Can I use other skincare products alongside my GENEU personally-prescribed skincare?
Your GENEU anti-ageing serums are designed to be applied to cleansed skin in the morning and in the evening. If you have particularly dry skin you can follow your serum application with your usual moisturiser, and during the daytime we recommend the application of a UV protection cream. To further enhance your skin and the absorption of our serums, it also can be beneficial to gently exfoliate the skin regularly.
Can the GENEU formulations change or modify my DNA?
The GENEU formulations will not change your DNA, as you are born with your genes. The DNA personalised anti-ageing skincare from GENEU is tailored to provide daily protection for your skin against your lifestyle factors and to enhance your natural levels of antioxidant protection and collagen.
Were clinical trials carried out as part of GENEU product development?
We performed two clinical trials showing the key role of genetics in skin ageing and the results of using GENEU personally-prescribed skincare serums over 12 weeks. In a recent clinical study, in collaboration with scientists at Imperial College London with 86 participants, 81% of women said that their overall facial appearance had improved and 77% saw a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes after using our personalised products for 12 weeks. Our serums contain clinically and dermatologically tested formulations.
Will GENEU products react with my existing skincare regime?
No, GENEU products will not cause a reaction on your skin due to any of your other skincare products. In the rare event of a skin reaction, please stop using all skincare products until you identify the source of the allergy and contact your doctor.
Will the GENEU skincare products reduce the effect of my lifestyle factors on my skin?
Yes. As the ingredients in your GENEU products will also be tailored to your lifestyle factors, your personally-prescribed serums will work to counteract their effects on your skin.
Can I use other skincare products alongside my GENEU DNA personalised skincare?

How soon will I see results after starting to use GENEU serums?
By applying GENEU serums daily morning and night, in the first week of use, skin texture feels refined and appears visibly more hydrated and smoothed. From six to eight weeks of use, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are reduced, skin texture and tone is smoother, radiance is increased and the complexion is brightened. Are the GENEU products suitable for sensitive skin?
GENEU takes every precaution to ensure the safety of our products. Our products have all been clinically and dermatologically tested and are confirmed to be suitable for sensitive skin. Every skin type is different and even the same individual can react differently to the same product over time. In the rare event that irritation may occur, please consult your doctor immediately.
Are GENEU products tested on animals?
GENEU does not perform animal testing on any of our product formulations or on any of our individual ingredients, either directly or indirectly. None of our finished products are tested on animals.
Do you use parabens in the GENEU formulations?
GENEU actively seeks safe and effective ingredients. We do not use parabens or MI (Methylisothiazolinone) in our formulations.
